VLC 3.0 on Linux (Fedora 27 Cinnamon Spin).

Postby zethan191 » 11 Feb 2018 19:09

Hi there,

I love VLC, and I am looking forward to use VLC 3.0 on Fedora 27 Cinnamon Spin. However, I have general question regarding VLC 3.0 via PulseAudio.

From the link here https://www.videolan.org/vlc/releases/3.0.0.html, under the "Audio outputs and filters" section, the two sentences below mean AC3, DTS, and DTSHD won't be pass-through for PulseAudio correct? Would it be pass-through in the near future?

[*]HDMI/SPDIF pass-through support for WASAPI (AC3/DTS/DTSHD/EAC3/TRUEHD)
[*]Support EAC3 and TRUEHD pass-through for PulseAudio

Thank you.

AC-3 and DTS passthrough for PulseAudio was already in previous releases. Not sure about DTS-HD.
