1080p Plays Perfect but studders every 10 secounds for 10ms

Postby kanazky » 08 Mar 2011 09:05

I am watching a 1080p mkv on VLC 1.2.0 Daily Build using Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick.

During which the audio is crisp, quality is supurb but every 10 seconds or so in the video it gets a small studder. It is very annoying looks like it stops of a half second then continues playing perfectly.

CPU: i7-820qm Quad Core
OS: Ubuntu 10.10
Graphics: ATI Radeon 5730
Graphics Driver: FLGX 11.2 Ati Propriety driver Linux

Skip loop filter is set to: All
Post Processing: Off
GPU Decoding: Off
De Interlace: Off

How do I fix this?
For some reason Windows plays it fine, and I am under the impression that it worked before on my 10.04 think VLC 1.1.7 but not sure.

please provide the debug output.
by launching vlc from the command line, you'll get debug info in your terminal.
If you're lucky, you'll see an error message every 10 seconds there

problem can be a slow disk, a cpu reporting wrong speed, etc ...
debug output should help there
