Audio > Audio Device settings

Postby JC13 » 02 Jul 2023 19:51

Hi,

[HAD-1, USB Audio] appears to be my DAC/amp. I am already ignoring a whole list of options, which are quite obviously not applicable to my headphone amp, like surround sound. As is, I have picked [HAD-1, USB Audio IEC958 (S/PDIF) Digital Audio Output] as my setting and it works fine. But I am curious about the functionality of the others:

HAD-1, USB Audio Direct hardware device without any conversions
HAD-1, USB Audio #1 Direct hardware device without any conversions
HAD-1, USB Audio Default Audio Device

Does anybody know what they are supposed to do, compared to the one I am using?

Those are ALSA idiosyncrasies, so VLC forum is not exactly the ideal place to find a useful answer, TBH.
