Issues with 1080i MKV playback on Lion in 2.0.0

I'm running the latest VLC 2.0.0 on O X Lion 10.7.3 and I have a lot of issues with HD 1080i .mkv playback. A lot of these will just freeze up, although the audio will continue to play. 1080p content gives me little to no issues whatsoever. When the file freezes, the only way to quit out of VLC is to do a force quit, because even closing the window and doing command-Q or selecting Quit from the menu won't quit the program.

You're most likely experiencing this issue, where certain files under VLC 2.0 will either refuse to play, show a black screen, a frozen screen, have pauses, skips, etc:
