Hi,

I have VideoLan 2.0.0 installed on my MAC OS X Lion v10.7.3. I also have a Panasonic DMR-PWT500GL BluRay DVD recorder which I enabled as a DLNA server.

Using Windows 7 MediaPlayer (on a PC), I can view all the videos I have recorded on the PWT500GL and I can play them all. However when I use VideoLan 2.0.0, I can only see a handful of the videos - not all of them.

Is there anyone who can assist me if finding out how I can view the other video files using VideoLan on the MAC?

BTW, does it work on VLC for Windows?

I tried running VLC 2 for Windows. Also getting the same issue.. Not all videos are displaying..

Hi again..

I investigated further and I noticed that Video Lan only displays the first 12 video files - ignoring the rest of the videos saved in my PWT500GL. So when I delete one of the 12 video files, the 13th video file shows up as the 12th and last in the list.

Is this limit a user configurable item? I would like to change this value to say 100 so i can see all my videos.

No such limitations. I use ReadyDLNA(MiniDLNA) and WIndows 7 built in DLNA server, and I can see thousands of videos and audios.

If you see the log with "/Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC -vvv", you will probably see the line:

I also noticed a yellow triangle next to the Upnp device name in the list view.

And the initial time duration listed for all the movies is extremely large. For example,

Ponyo 1157:31:00
Mercury Rising 1157:41:00

However, after playing Ponyo and Mercury Rising for a few seconds and stopping the movies, the time duration is updated accurately to...

Ponyo 2:00:03
Mercury Rising 2:20:03

First of all apologies for raking up such an old thread but I came across it searching for an almost identical problem, but using the latest 3.03 release (Window 64bit), iOS (v3.1.1), Apple TV (v3.0.2). ie, I've enabled the DLNA server on my 2018 Panasonic TV, but VLC for all these versions will only display 20 files. Windows Media Player however does find all the files.


Any suggestions please why I cannot get to see all files through VLC?

Almost the same problem as described by dgilbert2.

* VLC 3.0.4 Vetinari 64bit release (on Windows 10 1803 64bit)
* DLNA server enabled on an older (2012) Panasonic Viera WT50 series TV with USB HDD 1TB named "Panasonic HDD", approx. 370 recorded TV programs
Indeed, VLC displays only the first twenty recordings under UPnP "Panasonic HDD" node.
Windows Explorer displays all recordings under the respective node, but cannot play any of the recorded video.

Any advice much appreciated.
