Subtitle Autodetection Path Preference not working?

Greetings,

Not sure if this is Mac OS X specific, but it's all I have.

VLC 2.0.0 Intel 64 Bit on Lion 10.7.3: the Subtitle Autodetection Path appears to not detect any more. I haven't changed anything in my setup or prefs, except for updating VLC from whatever the last 1.X version was. I have an External Drive with a bunch of .avi files and a " Subs" Folder containing all the subtitles for those avi files at the root of it. (yes, there's a space at the beginning of " Subs" so it's at the top of the list, and I have tried it removing the space).

In VLC Preferences I have "./Subtitles, ./subtitles, ./ Subs, ./ Subtitles, ./Subs" in the Subtitle Autodetection Path field. All was fine until the 2.0 update.

I hope I have provided enough information so this can be verified (and hopefully fixed).

Can anyone confirm this is working or not working for them? I still get no subtitles in 2.0.1 that are dependent on Subtitle Autodetection Path preference.

Yep, not working for me. Not fixed in 2.0.1 either. I reverted back to 1.1.12 in the meantime. It's quite annoying because I keep all my external subtitles in a subfolder named "Subtitles" in the movie's folder.

Seems we're out of luck though since no one else replied to your post, so there don't seem to be many others who use subtitle folders. If I recall correctly there was a similar problem with several of the 1.x series releases early on and it took a while to fix.

@sitenoise
It's a bug. Please file a bug report at https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/

ATM, place the subtitles file at the same folder or explicitly open the subtitles file.

And subs and Subs will be included by default too.
