Bug: VLC 2.0 delayed sound change

Hello!

It happens only on VLC2.0 in Lion, there were no such problem on VLC1.0. I did't have this problem on ANY software before.
When I try to change sound volume in movies the actual sound change happens with a 2-5 delay. (When I change it with mouse, keyboard or volume slider - doesn't matter. I click the slider and wait several seconds for volume to change. Then if I don't like the change I have to move the slider again and wait for several seconds). It's really annoying, I cannot watch movies at all in this mode.

Is there any solution to this? Thanks
(Mac OS X 10.7.2)
(I found the guys having the same problem on Linux: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=98180&p=331311)

I've downloaded the most recent update for VLC and am still experiencing this delay. Is there any way to learn of the progress on this bug?

Well, this is fixed in VLC 2.0.1. If not, reset your preferences :)

ah, and note that this is fixed on Linux and Mac OS X only in 2.0.1. It isn't fixed on Windows depending on the used audio output module.

FYI, this bug is not fixed. If you require video proof, let me know and I'll post it on youtube. There is an unmistakable pause between 2 and 3 seconds before the volume changes. I've reset prefs, I've tried the nightly 2.1.0 build, I've tried patches, different output modules... still an infuriating pause between what i tell it to do and when i get it.

Absolutely infuriating.
