White screen after updating VLC

Help... I`ve updated the VLC and now the only thing that I get when playing a movie is white image on the player, but the sound is intact. I have a Mac 10.5.9 and VLC 2.0
Does anyone have any idea as to what may be the problem?

I would suggest removing preferences if you haven't already. This will at least rule that out for further troubleshooting.
