Big problem with VLC! Help!!

Postby ciccioanamente » 15 Feb 2012 12:42

Hi, I have the last version of VLC (1.1.12) on my mac version 10.7.3 and it doesn't open!! I tried to read the FAQ on VLC website but I can't find org.videolan.vlc.plist and so I can't try to delete it!! I installed a lot of version (1.1.11-1.1.10-2.0rc ecc...) but it doesn't work!! What can I do? I already used repair disk permissions on disk utility :(
Can someone up on mediafire the .plist file? Have you other ideas? Thank you very muck for your help!!

In 10.7.3, you can find org.videolan.vlc by holding down option in Finder and clicking Go > Library > Preferences.

Two other suggestions come to mind:

1. You should use the "Delete VLC Preferences" script found in the Goodies folder contained in the VLC dmg you download. That will remove VLC's preferences.
2. If VLC doesn't open at all, check to make sure you are using the right version for your architecture (e.g. 64bit VLC on a 32bit Mac).
