What VLC is compatible with a satellite decoder

I would like to see YouTube videos on a TV by means of a Linux satellite decoder (Dreambox 7020 E1 in m case) on which a YouTubePlaver plugin is installed for this scope. The problem is that the only supported VLC version is 0.86x on Windows, on Mac OSX which is the equivalent version and where I can find it?
Thanks

There is also VLC 0.8.6.x for the Mac. However, it is a painfully outdated version with various known security issues, so it is up to you whether using it is worth it. It's still available from our Download for Mac page when looking for "archived releases".

:D Thanks Felix Paul
I downloaded the Mac OSX 0.86.c version and it works !!!! (up to now I tested with .MP4 and .TS files, not yet with DVDs)
Who knows which is the difference (supposedly on the web-interface) that does not allow recent VLC versions to be compatible with the vlcf plugin on the decoder?
Should this difference make impossible to ugrade the vlcf ?

As far as I remember, the dreambox plugin was never updated by its developers for current versions of VLC. As you said correctly, VLC's web interface was updated for VLC 0.9.0, so it is no longer compatible with the Dreambox. This is nothing, which can't be fixed in the Dreambox plugin of course..
