Full Screen with Dual Monitors (Lion)

Alright so in Lion it seems that the video on dual monitors doesn't really work properly, I select full screen and it plays fine in one of the monitors but the other one it just leaves it black.

I tried to select which device I want the fullscreen on, and once I did it didn't make a difference so I guess its just a small bug.

Anyways thanks.

Oh and if it helps on on Version 1.0.0

Edit: Noticed that I was using an old version so updated to the latest and the problem is still present.

Look at this thread viewtopic.php?f=12&t=92114
I don't have Lion yet but your described setting seems fine... try unchecking the checkbox 'Black Screens in Fullscreen mode' under VLC-->Preferences...-->Video. Your second screen should then be available; if that's what you are looking for?

crackstone is right. In fact, this isn't a bug, but a feature, which can be disabled in the preferences. This is not specific to OS X Lion.

First of all if this were a bug it wouldn't be a small one. One of the wonderful things about two large monitors is that when it comes to movies there's finally a way to watch full screen while using the other monitor to do work. (yes, I know, the irony...)

What I would like to add to this discussion is this: you appear to have to save your choice and then close vlc in at least some situations for these kinds of changes to take hold. I initially had the experience Julio3094 was having and thought that VLC simply had some interface options that hadn't actually been implemented. Then I remembered other times where similar things happened so I tried unchecking the checkbox mentioned in crackstone's posting, then quitting, then opening and checking that it had stayed unchecked. Voila! For the first time ever I'm watching a lovely classic movie in full screen on the monitor to my right as I type this.

Fantastic!!!!! Really delightful!!!!!!!

I have found that there are some things on my macs that require restarts to properly take hold, others that require quitting and restarting programs, while others change instantly. I'm just speaking from experience not from any deep knowledge of how the programming is supposed to work or what is on the list of expected or required behavior of applications or the operating system.

Now if someone would just tell me how to bring the color back into the Lion Finder Sidebar.....
