Error compiling the VLC mozilla plugin on OSX
Posted: 12 Jun 2011 11:39
Hi, I'm trying to get the VLC mozilla plugin to work in Firefox 4 on OSX 10.6.
I found that If I ran Firefox 4 in 32bit mode the 1.0.5 plugin loads and seems to work fairly well. So I figured I'd try to compile the plugin as a 64bit plugin. I successfully compiled the 1.1.10 vlc source as 64bit, but I'm running into some problems when compiling the mozilla plugin source.
When I ran the autogen.sh, I got the same errors as this user: viewtopic.php?p=231038#p231038
Adding his m4_pattern_allow's to the configure.ac file seemed to fix the issue.
Now the problem seems to be with the configure. When I run "./configure"
I get the following error message:
I have no idea what this error means or why it is being generated. I tried commenting out that line just to see what would happen, but it generated the same type of error, but this time on line 16863 of the configure file, which is this bit of code:
Here is the full output from my Terminal:
Here are the version numbers for my installed make tools:
autoconf - 2.68
automake - 1.11
libtool - 2.4
m4 - 1.4.16
