How to position video in fullscren at the top part of screen

I googled a lot and tried to read documentation but couldn't find how to position video at the top in fullscreen mode. I don't want it to be in the center (height) so there are two black stripes - in the bottom and at the top but I want it to stick with upper border of screen so there will be bigger stripe at the bottom of the fullscreen so I can read subtitles easier on the black background.

So here's what I need:

The upper picture - is how the video usually positioned in fullscreen and the lower picture is what I need. Is there a hotkey for positioning video or is there some kind of "position at the top" option in preferences?

Also if i use "subtitle position down" hotkey it doesn't move subtitles below the video on this black stripe. I just totally dislike to see the subs on the video image and I wan't this empty black space to be used for subtitles!

Hi, I too have spent a long time trying to find the answer to this problem. Is it possible to put it in as a feature request?
I project my screen onto the wall and want the picture as near the ceiling as possible.

Feel free to file a ticket on trac.videolan.org/vlc, but note that virtually all VideoLAN software is developed by volunteers in their spare time, so we are unable to discharge all feature requests in a reasonable time frame.
