Speed up playback to 2.5x?

How do you make VLC play movies at 2.5x speed? VLC lets you speed up videos to speed 1.5x, then 2.0x, but then the next speed jumps way up to 3.0x. Is there a way to make videos playback at 2.50x speed?

No, you don't understand. On the **MAC** version, when I click VLC's "Faster" command the first time, it jumps up to 1.5x speed. When I click "faster" another time, it jumps up to 2.0 speed. But when I click "faster" another time then it jumps all the way up to 3.0 speed! How can I get vlc to playback at 2.5 speed?
Please! This is very important to me! I need to be able to get VLC to do this!

a bit late but there is a way to do this. go to preferences, then hotkeys, then find faster slower (fine) and give it a shortcut. save and relaunch. then you can use your shortcut to do it.
