VLC 1.16 Screen Saver and Non Quit Issue

Hi guys,
I installed the VLC 1.16 Intel 64 issue on my iMac white Late 2006, Mac OS X Snow Tiger 10.6.6.

So far so good, nevertheless i noticed two issues.
1) With my older VLC versions the Screen Savers will always appear passing a couple of minutes. Now the screen keeps active and no screen saver will appear at all.
2) With my last VLC version, i did ALT+TAB to check my open applications and just Cmd+Q to quit VLC, now i can't do it. VLC will not react to Quit with cycling between apps.

Strange indeed. Any help or ideas?

1) This is no bug, but a feature. Most people don't want their screensaver to appear or their Mac to sleep while watching a movie. Pause the movie and the screensaver will become active after the usual interval.
2) Known issue. Will be fixed in VLC 1.2.
