BUG: VLC 1.1.6 MacOSX: Cannot change Subtitle Size

I have just updated to VLC 1.1.6 in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and I have to report the following bug:

Subtitle Size
In 'VLC Preferences' > 'Subtitles & OSD' the 'Font Size' button doesn't change the size of the displayed subtitles.
I can change the subtitle font and color but the size remains the same. The bug existed in VLC 1.1.5.
The problem doesn't exist in VLC for Windows.

The displayed subtitles are huge and I would like to select the 'Small' or 'Smaller' Size. Unfortunately nothing happens.

After upgrading VLC I have deleted all VLC settings files and folders from ~/Library/Preferences, ~/Library/Application Support, ~/Library/Caches.

Thank you

This bug has been there since at least 1.1 and reported here many times before.
