i've got several m2t stream transport files recorded off a firewire tuner using apple's vdvhs example app that vlc will not play:-( on opening, the progress bar barberpoles until i click the play button, then the progressbar stops but no window opens. another click on the play button switches to the pause icon, but vlc continues to use 60-115% cpu (core duo mini, 2gb, 10.6.4, vlc 1.1.3)

wtf? yes, the file plays fine in vdvhs, so that's not the problem...

yup: note file date, size...start date is encoded in filename (artifact of apple's vDVHS app;-)

v1.1.11 still won't play some .m2t files that play fine in vdvhs:-(
