file output with command line?

Postby unfrostedpoptart » 16 Sep 2010 05:41

Hi all.

I've been using VLC on Win and Mac for years (and soon iPad!!!), but I've never done anything other than use it as a video player. I have some .m4v files that have out of sync audio and video. I looked at some of the help for the command line (I know F and G in the GUI) and have this working to play them:

/Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC -vvv MYFILE.m4v --audio-desync 350

So far, so good, but how do I output this back to a corrected .m4v file? I've seen lots of people ask this over the years, but no simple answer. I tried following the docs but got lost in output module and codec options.

Can someone give me the simple answer?

Thanks!!!

David
