VLC 1.1.0 64-bit
Is this new release of VLC 1.1.0 64-bit by default? I can't seems to find separate links for the 32-bit and 64-bit.

Yes, it does do 64 bit by default, at least on 10.6.
Just use the download link and install, then check via activity monitor or through the about VLC pane.
EDIT: There also doesn't appear to be a PPC version of it; its not listed as UB, just intel under the info pane. Also, if needed, you can force open in 32 bit under the info pane in OSX.
