VLC & Handbrake Incompatibility Problem

I just downloaded the new version of handbrake, version 0.9.4 (64 bit), since I have a core 2 duo processor, but now every time I try to scan a dvd into the source to copy it, it gives me this message, "This version of HandBrake is 64 bit, VLC found but not 64 bit!" I've gone back and re-downloaded the newest VLC player, version 1.0.3 Goldeneye several times, but it is only available in a 32 bit version and now I can't copy any more of my movies because of the bit incompatibility. Can somebody help?

Due to the lack of Mac OSx Developers the 64-bit version is on halt.
So that means you either need to use the 32-bit handbrake or download VLC 1.02 64-bit.

VLC 1.02 (64-bit)
ftp://videolan.org/pub/vlc/1.0.2/macosx ... ntel64.dmg

Handbrake (32-bit)

Same problem for me. Pre Snow Leopard, Handbrake worked perfectly. Now it tells me I need 64 bit VLC. Doesn't work. Tried downloading prior versions of HB and VLC...all to no avail. Anyone have any ideas? How do I know VLC is running correctly in the background once I've downloaded the 64 bit version?
