VLC 1.0.0 Trouble with Services Discovery: Shoutcast

It's getting a bit annoying. The last two releases of VLC 0.9.9a and now 1.0.0 (for MacOS X Intel 10.5.7) show problems I never experienced with older versions. Was it in 0.9.9a a not properly working progress bar and media title display which made me go back to 0.9.8a, now in 1.0.0 it's the Services Discovery for Shoutcast Radio and TV listings.

The error log says:
main error: open of `http/shout-winamp://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/newxml.phtml' failed: (null)
That's for Shoutcast Radio
main error: open of `http/shout-winamp://www.shoutcast.com/sbin/newtvlister.phtml?alltv=1' failed: (null)
That's for Shoutcast TV

Does anybody else experiences this failure?

For now a consider it as a temporary problem and will give it another try tomorrow. But if this continues I have to go back again to VLC 0.9.8a.

:( Klaus

Thanks for replying.
But as I said, it's working and checking the log now, it doesn't list the failure anymore. I mean I'm happy about that. If this problem turns up again I will post it under the same topic. Thanks again.

i never attempted to read the log assuming it is full of jargon i would not understand,
but i took the chance and read the log that i posted with my own mouse clicks.
it says "HTTP/1.1 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable"

i am assuming this not vlc related, it is merely an internet connectivity issue.

gheez

vlc is a miracle in the bytes. :))

It seems like Shoutcast's servers are a bit unreliable these days. It usually works again after a few minutes without changing anything within VLC.
