Fast forward button STILL not working...

Before anyone tells me to "Clear my cache and preference files etc." I just want people to know I reformatted my MBP in January and the oldest version of VLC I've had on this machine is 0.9.8(whatever letter was attached to it). However, for some reason, since version prior to this, every time I use the fast forward button, on either the controller or the video window, the video seems to fast forward a bit, and then then suddenly jumps back a few more seconds (incidentally leaving me at a time several seconds before the time I clicked the fast forward button at). Does anyone know how to fix this?

I tried looking up solutions, but all I found was "fixed in 0.9.2" when it clearly was not. I've updated to the latest 0.9.9a (using the clear preferences app and AppZapper to clear the prefs and cache files before installing the latest version), but I still have this issue.

I just did, it seems to be working properly on some files, but none of my MKV files seem to open (they crash immediately). So I guess it's nice to know that it'll work properly when 1.0.0 comes out.

Thanks for such a quick response!

I actually just noticed something, the fast forward button does work in 0.9.9a, however, it only seems to be working for my avi files. However, for my MKV files it seems to be having this fast forwarding issue.

Duh, when fastforwarding, higher decoding resources are required, and you just run out of CPU.

Currently 1.0.0 builds have a broken ffmpeg that crashes on some h264 videos, so that is somewwhat expected.
