Audio Device Number

There is an option in the preferences under audio>output modules>auhal that says audio device and has a field to select a number. The popup information says my "audio device" menu will tell me what device corresponds with what number but I cannot find this menu anywhere. Can someone please tell me how to find this information as I have more than one device installed in my computer.
