VLC 0.9.3 - Setting video size does nothing.

Just letting you know, on OSX 10.5.5 Intel, VLC 0.9.3 does not pay attention to the "video size" settings that enable you to open all videos at the same resolution. This is really frustrating on a laptop, where 1080p content goes WAY off the screen without this setting, plus it's irritating even when you have the screen space to spare... it's nice to have all the videos open at the same size. If someone would be nice enough to fix this issue that would be awesome. ^_^

Can you be a little bit more exact ? We have so many *-size related options...

Sorry to not be specific! The setting I am referencing is in Tools->Preferences->Video under "Window Properties". The settings are "video width" and "video height" and on Windows these make VLC launch at the same size each time, but in OS X, changing these settings doesn't do anything and the player opens the video at 100% zoom and resizes the window.
This is a big pain.

In perhaps a related problem, VLC has long had a problem where it'll reset the video size for no reason when switching files. For example, if you have video set to play back at double size, VLC will switch back to 1:1 when it plays the next file in the playlist or even repeats the same file.
VLC has always done this when the subsequent file varied in size from the previous one (by even a tiny amount), and it has always been quite annoying. But now it does it at the start of any file.
Why?
Thanks for the product, though.

I'm having the same troubles/annoyances: The setting of absolute window size does not work, it resizes the window to 1:1 if the next video in the list is a different resolution to the previous one!
The lack of a "drag and that's your window size till further notice" option is the one major downer to the whole player!
Using Mac OS X 10.5.7, VLC 1.0.0
