I hate the new VLC

I'm sorry, but I do.

Where's the point of having the "Media Library" node? What is the point of a node at all?

I use VLC to play videos. Be they DVD's or episodes of Frasier I downloaded from the internet. I don't have a need for nodes, I just want something simple and elegant to present the video to me.

That's what VLC used to be.

Hi,

first of all: Thank you, VLC team.

Digital Life wouldn't be as comfortable as it was with VLC 0.8 branch. I am really appreciating your work done.

However about the new 0.9 branch I go along with the issues mentioned above and here:

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=50673&p=163278&hil ... ry#p163278

I would be glad if this workflow issue about the useless nodes could be configured - I already disabled Media Library and have no use for the Playlist node, too. Please make it configureable to de-select the Playlist node.

Thanks

PS: Some people seem to forget their manners whilst complaining about a free product... guess they didn't contribute at all (money or beta testing or developing...)

You have to know that the interface code was just touched enough so that it's still compatible with the latest core update for 0.9.

The plan is a full rewrite of the interface for 1.0. Though, there are a lot of issues that needs to be addressed first, and this might get postponed.
