I'm curious if I'm the only one out there. When I play movies (largely XVID) on my MacBook Air, videos will skip / drop frames every 20-30 seconds or so. I opened up activity monitor and noticed a spike in the HD read just before the stutter; I'm theorizing that maybe the slow HD in the MacBook Air just can't spin up fast enough when the video cached to memory video runs out. So,
a) Does anyone else out there with a MacBook Air have VLC video problems? If so, what did you do to fix them?
b) Is there any way to configure VLC to cache smaller chunks of video to memory so the hard drive is more or less always being read from?
I'm worried VLC and the MacBook Air just aren't meant to get along. Thanks for any help anyone can provide!
