Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone is able to help with a problem I have playing certain DVDs in Mac OS X VLC. I can play the majority of the DVDs I own, however on a few the video is badly scrambled and pixelated.

Things I've noticed...

- I've played the DVDs successfully in VLC on my Windows XP/ Xubuntu dual boot laptop (which, by the way, has a significantly less powerful processor than my Mac, so I'm pretty sure processing power is not the problem) which leads me to believe it must be something specific to the Mac version.
- I can play the DVDs fine in DVD Player/ Front Row (also, the DVD drive is set to the correct region code for the DVDs), but not VLC.
- The audio is also scrambled and stutters.
- If I let the menu screen for some of the DVDs sit for a while the video eventually unscrambles, but this doesn't happen when playing the feature.

Some example error messages from when I start playing one of the DVDs-

Is anyone able to give me any advice on this problem?

Solved! I found that by opening the VIDEO_TS folder, as opposed to the DVD itself, the DVDs played back fine.
