Error code: access_file:read failed(argument list too long)
Running Mac OS X 10.4.11

I get this error after every file I try to access, all avi. I've watched them before, no problem using VLC. Sometimes I get no error message at all, it just refuses to open. Sometimes it works fine. I'm very confused, any help appreciated. Have tried reinstalling/rebooting VLC.

Try deleting the preference file. You can do that by running the included script from the DMG file you downloaded from www.videolan.org.
