Enabling Equalizer by default

Postby gezginrocker » 21 Jan 2008 03:57

Hello,

I have to manually turn on EQ each time I start VLC.

Is there a way to enable it by default so I don't have to start it manually each time?

Thanks

Yes, you can do that in the preferences.

Expand the "Audio" node, click on "Filters" (not on the triangle next to it) and check the box next to "Equaliser with 10 bands". Afterwards, expand the "Filters" node and set your preferred preset in the "Equaliser" section.

Hit "Save", then.

Hi,

I have tried that but it doesn't seem to work. Still when I start VLC & open the EQ, I see that Enable box is unchecked.

I am using 0.8.6c, because 0.8.6d keeps on crashing on my Leopard when I am playing movies with subtitles.

Thanks

Hmm, that's indeed a bug in the 0.8.6 series of VLC. I've just fixed that for 0.9.0. Let's see whether I can backport the fix for 0.8.6e.

Could you post a crashlog of 0.8.6d trying to play subtitles?

Hello,

I have installed 0.8.6d again & now strangely it seems to be fine. When I open a movie which also has a same named subtitle file, it plays fine now.

But when I try to load a subtitle manually using Quick Open File or Open File, VLC crashes and gives this error:

main: no suitable access module for `file://'

I looked at users/x/library/logs/crashreporter, but strangely there are no VLC logs.

And EQ still is not enabled at startup, although I have checked EQ at filters & saved it, Again I have to start EQ manually.

Hope this helps...
