I can't read WMV3 files.
I'm answered :" main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `WMV3'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format."
Does anyone knows how to do for correct reading?

PS Sorry if my english is bad. I'm a french high school boy.

Thank you for answering

Current stabile version 0.8.6c doesnt support this codec. You can try nightly builds (unfinished version of VLC 9.0). I remember nightly builds released before august, were quite stabile and played wmv fine. The problem is, current intel-mac nighties dont work at all on many machines. I dont know how its like on PPC. If current nighties wont work for You, keep Your fingers crossed and wait few weeks for a new version... :)

I should say "not fully support this codec". If you'll check again the compatibility list, at the bottom of the video formats list, theres a line:
WMV-3 / WMV-9 / VC-1 playback will be available through the FFmpeg-library in VLC 0.8.6. It is already enabled in the nightly builds. The playback of some videos can still be problematic due to the pre-beta nature of the decoder.

Thats the reason why some wmv work, and others not

I wrote that note a while ago and actually forgot that it is still on the page. VLC 0.8.6c contains a full WMV3 decoder supporting all non-encrypted WMV3 files. It's just important to use the "c" release, as "a" and "b" don't contain this decoder at all.
