I am producing enhanced podcasts with profcast and garage band and these contain a lot of pictures. the generated m4as work perfectly fine in iTunes as well as in Quicktime, all pictures (slides) are shown and also the chapters work fine.

However in VLC only the audio track works. The pictures are shown very oddly. it is difficult to describe: there is a diagonal line from bottom left to top right through the picture and the picture is distorted along that line, what is right of the line should actually be in the top left corner...

additionally chapters do not work and pictures do not change properly on chapter marks as they are supposed to do.

is this just a intel mac os x issue, or do enhanced podcasts not work at all properly with vlc?

Yes, I would like to try, but could you please tell me where I can find that one? I was searching in the download section...?

Apparently there are some server problems? I tried to dowload the build several times with different browsers, but the download always stops somewhere in the middle

btw.: I could download it in safari, when I stopped the dowload at every break and pressed resume... odd server behaviour I suppose?


However, it did unfortunately not solve the problem, it shows still the same behavior. I made a screenshot to show at least the distortion:

just one remark: yesterday I have tried the enhanced podcast with the windows version of VLC and there it seemed to work fine, so apparently this is really a Mac issue?

i know this is an old thread, but it seems to me that enhanced podcasts still do not work. over the years i've tried on numerous operating systems, and always the audio plays, but video never. i might as well be playing a normal mp3. it hasn't been a big problem, as i listen to basically one enchanced podcast a year.
