I've recently installed MacOSX-Intel vlc 0.9.0-svn (Trunk, March 12), and it's running quite well. I've noticed an EyeTV tab in the streaming options, which has me quite excited as I'm currently working on a hack workaround to accomplish streaming EyeTV input via VLC. This could resolve my issues in one fell swoop. However, the tab makes mention of an EyeTV VLC plugin, which I can't find any more info on. Anyone know what this is or where to get a hold of it?
Also, I'm curious about the state of FireWire DV in, specifically iSight and/or cable box input. It would be exceedingly sweet to bypass EyeTV altogether and just use VLC to stream a firewire input from my cable box, especially in combination with my IRTrans irblaster to control the cable box remotely. With this working, I can watch and control and record cable from anywhere I have an internet connection, including on my cellphone. Basically, my Mini woud gain all the features of a Slingbox.
