youtube transcoding?

i've been trying to transcode some youtube videos, and my videos have a green screen at the beginning and no sound. i've been trying to transcode to a .mp4 video, but i really want to transcode it to some format that will work with itunes. any suggestions?

i've also been having problems transcoding some .avi files with the DX50 codec, if i remember correctly... any help there either?

Download PodTube, it'll do it all for you.

VLC can't transcode youTube videos because of their FLASH-nature. FLASH content can only played. Further processing isn't possible.

aw. really? i've tried both, and neither seem to work. i guess i'll have to look into them further. thanks, though.

how about the avi dx50 codec? any help with that?

That's interesting, because I can download .flv files from Youtube, transcode them in standard VLC (Windows) and get an mpg or asf file out that works. (which I then convert to iPod format).
