I haven't posted on the subject until now because I'm a big fan of VLC and I've been trying to give the new version the benefit of the doubt, but after using 0.8.5 for a few weeks I have to say that the previous version was WAAAYYY more stable. 0.8.5 crashes on me all the time and even when it doesn't crash it has all kinds of glitches. I thank all the developers and I appreciate all their hard work on VLC. I'm still a big VLC fan, but for now I'm downgrading to the previous version.

Version Testing

What OS do you use ? Like most free-to-air software, VRC depends upon the software contained within the OS, in particular the UNIX utilities. The developers need to make VLC 10.x OS version independant- not an easy task. Whether they can do this is problematic as it needs a working knowledge of C++, not just juggling with utilities using AppleScript.

Life is not easy, especially in the REAL world of computer programming !
