using stdin?

Hi All

Just messing around with stuff, and I can't seem to be able to figure out how to get VLC on OSX to use stdin ... I've tried using - and /dev/stdin and stream:///dev/stdin

Any suggestions? Is this possible?

I've just hacked up dvsave to output to stdout and trying to find a homebrew solution to directly play (and transcode!) from my firewire DV input ...
