how to play Dts.h265.mkv on mac VLC?

Hi, I have very little knowledge of media players or file types. I'm trying to play a video file on my macbook using the latest VLC, but I only get video and no audio. Googlesearch told me it's likely because of the DTS audio codec (whatever that is). But when I go looking for a solution, none of them seem to match what I need.

Can someone please give me a straightforward answer?
