Request: Automatically Fit to Screen on Maximize

Hi,
I use Rectangle's Maximize window macOS accessibility feature to manage my application window dimensions. However, VLC appears to have some glitches in terms of the macOS accessibility integration.
When Rectangle or its paid equivalent Rectangle Pro request that the VLC application maximize, then VLC fails to respect the Dock. VLC ends up showing part of the video behind the Dock.
VLC's own Fit to Screen menu option behaves somewhat awkwardly, toggling back and forth between a proper maximized fit, and the previous window dimensions. I would also like an option for VLC to disable toggling back to previous dimensions.
As much as I like VLC, I may have to stick with QuickTime and more widely supported formats like MP4 until these quirks are resolved.
