Problem seeking in MKV files, macOS sonoma

Postby slutsteg » 02 Apr 2024 16:41

I'm encountering an issue with seeking in MKV files. I'm unable to seek properly; sometimes I can seek once or twice, but then the movie stops and I have to restart it. However, if I play the video from the beginning, it plays fine.

I'm using a MacBook 16 with an M1 chip and an Apple Studio Display, along with a Motu M4 card. I've tried disconnecting all peripherals, but the issue persists. Currently, I'm running macOS 14.4.1. I've tested VLC versions 3.0.18, 3.0.20, and the nightly build 3.0.21. Also ressetting config and trashed the config files of VLC. It seems like this problem started after I updated to 14.4.1 or.0, although I'm not entirely certain.

Below is a log file from VLC. I've already tried disabling audio, video, and hardware decoding in the settings, but the problem persists.

A H.264 file works flawless

Is there anything else I should try or any other suggestions?
