Sound async

Since a few weeks, the sound of almost all content I play (mkv, mp4, avi) is async. VLC 3.0.18 on a Macbook Pro. Re-installing VLC doesn't help. Is there a solution? Keeping adjusting audio delay is driving me crazy.

Have you tried resetting the preferences?
