Audio-Video out of sync

VLC Version 3.0.18 Vetinari (Apple Silicon)
With one (for me important) video the audio comes far too soon, with all other players, it plays fine. Audio delay is set to 0 (default)
Any idea what could be the reason? It is MP4 1024 × 576 - converted to 1280 ×720 same delay - ok in other players. I'm lost
