How do I control color saturation with a video playback?

I generally have no trouble with VCL. However, I will occasionally run into a video (e.g., wmv, mp4...) whose color is too saturated. By this I mean the skin tones are too red similar to a boiled lobster. I've done a lot of searching online and haven't found a solution to this occasional problem. Is there a way to control saturation? If so, please let me know.
