VLC suddenly cannot download from YouTube on Mac

I have been successfully using VLC to download YouTube video on macbook pro silicon for some time. Suddenly starting today (Monday 9/12/22) I cannot. Copy URL into VLC "open network" command and video will not load. Tried different YouTube video with same result, cleared cookies, dowloaded and reinstalled VLC, same issue. Any suggestions?
