VLC crashes with 4K HD Blu-ray disks

I’ve just purchased a Archgon Premium Aluminum External USB 3.0 UHD Blu-Ray Writer Super Drive. All works fine EXCEPT for the reason that I bought this drive. Even after several hours of work, I cannot find any way to play UHD 4K Blu-ray disks. In particular, the VLC Media Player crashes.
I am using a MacPro computer (NOT a MacBook Pro) running OS 12.4. Some Google search revealed that I needed to download and install in their proper places both keylib.cfg and libaacs.dylib; and I did so. Then I ran into the “unidentified developer problem” but apparently was able go fix this from System Preference, Security & Privacy by clicking on the option “allow anyway.”
Even after doing all the above, I still cannot play any UHD 4K disks using the following apps:
(1) VLC Media Player [Version 3.0.17.3 Vetinari (Intel 64bit)]
(2) Elmedia Player
(3) Cisdem Video Player
Apps (2) and (3) simply hang.
App (1), VLC, is much worse: It stops, the screen goes back to my normal desktop, and the icon for the mounted HD 4K disk disappears. Force quit VLC does not work, and the only way to recover is to reboot my MacPro computer!
Can you please help me??
Many thanks.
