Hi,
Since last update 3.0.17.3 under OSX 10.13.6 with Nvidia GTX980ti, even with hardware decoding preference, VLC doesn't discharge anymore 4k decoding to GPU.
I'd like to perform tests with previous VLC versions.
Do you have any page on
www.videolan.com to download old VLC releases ?
Regards,

This is an unexpected problem that you describe there. Can you provide a debug log for us?
You can find all versions of VLC ever released here:
https://get.videolan.org/vlc/
Note that artifacts.v.o lists development versions only.

Thanks Fkuehne, I was lost with development artifacts.
Before talking about a VLC bug, I want to test some VLC releases with different OSXs, Mac models and various graphic cards.
I'll be back with informations.

So,
The issue comes from the Nvidia GTX 980ti that encode/decode AVC (H264) but cannot encode/decode HEVC(H265), at my all surpise ! HEVC is manage from GTX1050 and beyond.
Regardless OSX, VLC or MacPro version, VLC log report Component>Device doesn't support HEVC.
And Nvidia to confirm :
-
https://developer.nvidia.com/video-enco ... matrix-new
-
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/fo ... encoder-a/
I must have mix together AVC and HEVC rushes in the same folder, and at the same time upgrading VLC.
No more troubles with VLC 3.0.17.3 on MacPro5,1 with OSX 12.1 and AMD Radeon Pro W5700.
Thanks for help.
