Is there an addon that preserves playlist state if VLC is closed?

Postby helpneeder123 » 03 Apr 2022 14:53

I wasn't sure which forum it was appropriate to ask this in, if there's another that is better suited, please let me know.

A feature I've seen oft-request (and that I would love) would be for the default playlist state to be preserved when VLC is closed. For example, right now in my playlist I have various episodes I'd like to watch in roughly the order I'd like to watch them...it'd be nice to be able to preserve that if VLC is closed.

Does anyone know if there is an addon that does this? If not, any guidance on how hard it would be to make one? I am a programmer, but completely unfamiliar with programming VLC. Willing to give it a go if it is feasible, though!

This will be properly fixed in VLC 4. For the meantime, consider using the "Media Library" instead of "Playlist" which does exactly but not more.
