Where is Tools in Mac? I need to change the brightness

Hello everyone, I got a Mac M1 and I had to download a new version of VLC. I downloaded some files that are pretty dark and I was looking for the Tools to change the brightness/ contrast, but I don't see any Tools in the menu or bar. Are the Tools hidden or are they missing completely? Is it still possible to change the brightness? Thank you

I also have this question. Instructions appear to be from a Mac interface when looking to save youtube videos from Tools, codec and there is no "location" field
