Sporadic video jumping

Postby brendanxx » 17 Oct 2021 15:02

Hi, I'm running Big Sur 11.6 on MacBook Air 2020. I'm using VLC 3.0.16. When playing both mp4 and mkv movies every 7 minutes or so (it varies) the movie jumps (something like missing a few frames). The movies are watchable but it's new and a little annoying. Any advice most appreciated.

Try to open the message window in the background when watching a video where this happens and after it happened, provide the log from the messages window please, else its impossible to know what might be going on as there are so many things that could cause this.

Thanks - but what exactly is the message window?

You can open it via Window -> Messages. It shows detailed VLC log messages.

I played a movie and the jerkiness is hardly noticeable, but still there from time to time - anyway here's the messages stuff - perhaps you can see something there.
cheers
