Cmd+P changed as shortcut for Play/Pause

Hello, my VLC 3.0.14 Vetinari (Intel 64bit) on macOS Catalina 10.15.7 has all of sudden changed the shortcut for "Play/Pause" to Command + P.

This is displayed in the Playback menu:

The shortcut is however set to Space in the settings:

Space does not work for playing or pausing anymore. I am 100% certain it worked before.

Downloading earlier versions of 3.0.xx did not fix this, Cmd+P is still listed as shortcut for "Play/Pause" in the Playback menu.

This in not desireable, as Space is logical shortcut for playing and pausing. Is something wrong with my install, did the shortcuts change recently or am I missing something here?

Space still works for me. Even if Cmd + P is listed in the menu.

Narrowed it down: This happens to me only if the first file opened is an audio file (tested Wav, Ogg, Mp3), either via "Open File..." menu or double-clicking on a file in macOS. (Sorry for the misleading title, I thought the problem was somehow related to the shortcuts).

If I load a video file after that, Space starts working again, and works for audio files loaded after that too. If I load another audio file after the first one, Space does not work.

Can someone replicate?
