VLC player in full screen in multi-display can't hide taskbar

One of my displays is a Panasonic plasma. I am concerned with burn in. When I have VLC in full screen on any of my 3 displays and I click onto another display, the taskbar at top of screen appears in ghost mode on top of the VLC window. I want to have VLC playing on Plasma while I work in the other two displays.
