Superdrive USB pulled out during playback, have to shutdown/restart VLC

Postby dougher34 » 02 Mar 2021 01:55

I've a Macbook Pro Late 2013 running VLC 3.0.12. I watch DVDs on a Superdrive connected via USB. If the cable accidentally pulls out during playback I get an error - makes sense. But if I reinsert the USB cable the error is not cleared, I can't continue playing the DVD or restart playing the DVD from scratch. The only way to clear the error is to shutdown VLC and start it back up again. Is this a problem with VLC, or a problem with the Mac's hardware or software? Anyone know?
